Description: Crown Hotel

Set in the heart of Old Amersham, the Crown Hotel dates back to the early 16th century and has been famous for years, most recently as a setting for the romantic comedy film Four Weddings and a Funeral. This traditional inn is within easy reach of London with Amersham located at the far end of the undergrounds Metropolitan line. Old Amersham is full of small boutique shops selling high quality craft goods and designer clothes. Behind its Georgian facade is an authentic Elizabethan interior of original beams, unique hand painted walls, and oak panelling. The recent addition of 14 new rooms to the hotel has created a heady mixture of old world charm combined with contemporary facilities. During winter, afternoon teas are served in the cosy Elizabethan lounge beside the open log fires, in the summer tea can be served al fresco in the newly landscaped gardens whilst enjoying a spot of croquet. It also provides an ideal base for exploring the Chiltern countryside and yet is only a few miles from the M40 and M25 motorways. The Crown also boasts two RAC dining awards. Air conditioning, CD players and digital TV all feature in the newly designed rooms and a purpose built boardroom provides an excellent venue for the smaller conference.
